At Cape Cod Equestrian Center we offer horseback riding lessons for ages 3 to adults. you are never too young or too old to enjoy a horse! Our one-on-one instruction and New Rider Classes are a great way to get introduced to the horse world. We have a tremendous group of over 20 lesson horses that can teach from the very beginner riders all the way through World Champion level riders, and instructors that can do the same.
We cater to all types of interests - whether it is riding just for fun, exercise, love of horses, or the desire to compete at a Local, National, or World level. Many of our Show Team riders began in our Riding Academy, learning the basics and then moving on to Select Academy Team and Show Team. Whatever your desire, Cape Cod Equestrian Center can take you there!
We offer a variety of lesson options for both children and adults to cater to our student's needs.
Tiny Tot Lessons
Tiny Tot Lessons are a great way to get your young horse lover in the saddle.
Private Riding Lessons
Private lessons are a great way to begin your riding career, or perfect the skills you have been working on in your group or semi-private lesson.
Semi-Private lessons are available once the instructor feels the student is comfortable controlling the horse at a walk and trot. Riders are matched with other CCEC students with similar skill level.
Group lessons are a great way to make new friends at the barn and get a little extra saddle time! Group lessons are scheduled over an hour time slot, which allows our students to ride for at least 45 minutes, and have some time in the barn with their horse as well. Please contact your instructor for available group lesson times.
New Rider Classes
New Rider Classes allow our new students to receive the full horseback Riding Experience! These one hour classes include 20-30 minutes of hands on learning in the barn grooming and tacking the horses, and 30-40 minutes of riding time. Please Contact Us if you are interested in signing up for our upcoming New Rider Classes.
One of our favorite teaching tools is our Freedman Double Saddle. This saddle allows the instructor to be on the horse's back with the student. With the double saddle, riders are able to rapidly develop new riding skills and muscle memory. Our Tiny Tots and Lesson students alike benefit greatly from the use of the double saddle!
The time for lessons indicates actual on-horse riding time (Except New Rider Classes). All of our students are encouraged to arrive early and stay after their lessons for hands on time with the horses learning grooming, tacking, and horse handling.
